Postmortem: Temple Twins

Temple Twins is a game I worked on with Orie Falconer and Kiel Gaiger at “Party Like It’s 19TOJam9” (aka TOJam 9). Unlike previous years, everyone had to submit their games to itch.io at the end of the weekend. It was nice to have that immediate exposure to anyone who went there! Our game ended up here. Enough of that though. Onwards to the postmortem!

Postmortem: The Director

The Director is a game I worked on with Orie Falconer and Kiel Gaiger for TOJam: Hater Gonna Eight in 2013. This was the game that lead me to my first adventure with Unity input and all the frustrations that come with it. I’ll talk a little more about that and other things in this postmortem after the jump!

As We Are is a game I worked on with Orie Falconer and Kiel Gaiger for Global Game Jam 2014. This particular postmortem won’t be very long and you’ll see why after the jump.

Postmortem: Pulse Hunter

Pulse Hunter is a game I made with Orie Falconer and Kiel Gaiger at Global Game Jam 2013. That was our second game jam as a group and we had learned much from our previous outing. It’s been quite a while since originally working on the game (Jan 2013) but let’s dive into this postmortem!

Adventures with Menu Navigation

MenuNavigation is the class name of a script I created quite a while ago in order to help highlight and select menu buttons. It was specifically made to make it easy to do with a gamepad but it works with the keyboard as well.

It’s been a long journey since creating this script and recently I’ve improved its functionality. To celebrate this, I figured another blog post was in order!

Adventures with Unity Input: Redux

So, you may recall that a while ago I wrote a post about my experiences with Unity and how it deals with input from controllers.

Turns out that in the newer versions of Unity (4+), the solution I created no longer works properly. So once again I was dealing with controller issues at TOJam (again).

Adventures with Android

I recently purchased a Nexus 4 (you know, the Google phone!) and as a result, I’ve had the opportunity to play around with making games for a mobile device! Continue reading

Adventures with Unity Input

Oh Unity, how I love making games with you. But how I loathe using your input system. So much so that I came up with a solution of my own that requires little to no work to implement into any and all future projects! Continue reading

Postmortem: Declassified

Declassified is a game I made with Orie Falconer and Kiel Gaiger in 2012 for TOJam: The Sevening. On September 1st, 2013, a rather large update was released for the game. It’s something I’ve been working on for a while so I figured it would be worthy of a postmortem. Continue reading

Adventures with svn:external

I recently decided that, rather than maintain shared code across multiple projects, I should set up a different folder on my repository and add the code as an external to each project. I’m going to use Declassified as an example. Continue reading
